Acute kidney injury in Indonesia has resulted in almost 100 child deaths this year

An official from the Indonesian health ministry told reporters on Wednesday that almost 100 children in the country have died from acute kidney injury (AKI) this year. The health ministry spokesman Mohammad Syahril, in a statement to Reuters, said that officials had identified 206 cases of the disease up to October 18. Of these, 99 cases had been fatal.
