This donation effort follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. It was further overseen by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.

The Emirates Red Crescent Authority led the event, which saw the participation of over 4,400 volunteers from various nationalities, who packed 10,000 baskets of essential supplies. This wide-ranging effort highlights the UAE’s commitment to supporting Lebanon during this crisis. Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, emphasized the strong historical ties between the UAE and Lebanon.

He noted that the public’s active involvement in the collection of humanitarian aid reflects the deep solidarity between the two nations. Al Mazrouei also praised the diverse contributions from the UAE’s multicultural society, which came together to extend support to Lebanon during its time of need. The campaign’s success was a testament to the nation’s unity and willingness to assist those facing hardship.

Around 24 donor and volunteer organizations participated in the event at Abu Dhabi Ports. These included the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, among others. The “UAE stands with Lebanon” campaign will continue to run until October 21, providing further opportunities for contributions to assist Lebanon in its ongoing challenges.
